In commemoration of 'World Blood Donor Day' which falls on June 14, 2021, JNE held a blood donation activity in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross. This blood donation activity was held in two places on Tuesday (15/6/2021).
The first activity was held at JNE Cikarang Branch Office, at JNE Warehouse Cikarang Jl. Raya Imam Bonjol No.22, Kalijaya, Kec. West Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, at 08.30 – 11.30 WIB. "The blood donation event is also a routine activity every 3 months at JNE Cikarang," explained Lutfi Pahlevi as Head of JNE Cikarang Branch.
Lutfi also said, "This is a form of JNE's concern for the health of employees and the community, especially the community around the JNE Cikarang Branch Office in providing blood stocks for people in need".
In addition to blood donation, the JNE Cikarang Branch Office area can also be used to hold various other activities that are beneficial to the surrounding community. "We will always try to hold other useful activities in the future, such as programs for SMEs and so on," he said.
Apart from JNE Cikarang, blood donation activities on the same day were also held on the 5th floor of the PMI Central Jakarta Building, Salemba, Central Jakarta. The enthusiasm of the Knights and Heroes who wanted to donate blood was quite high, even after the event was closed due to the availability of blood bags running out, it seemed that several JNE employees were still arriving.
Dozens of blood bags were collected from JNE employees in this 3-hour event. "In about 3 hours, 46 blood bags from JNE employees were collected," said the chief executive of the activity, Sony Prasetyo.
According to Sony, the blood donation activity was deliberately held at the Salemba PMI Building, so that it was close to the JNE Hub Garuda. "In the future, it will take turns, for example those close to JNE Hub Veterans, blood donations will be held at PMI South Jakarta and so on," he said, who is also the Section Head of Employee Engagement at JNE.
Meanwhile, dr. Anggri, as the head of the blood donor team from UTD PMI Jakarta, appreciated the JNE company for holding blood donor activities. “It should be followed by other companies. This is an extraordinary step from JNE," he said.
"Because currently the availability of blood bags in DKI Jakarta continues to run low, while the demand for blood from hospitals continues to increase," said dr. Anggri while talking to JNEWS.
According to him, PMI DKI Jakarta in this activity provided 4 beds for donors and assigned 7 staff. "Of course we also enforce strict health protocols for all those present," he stressed.
dr. Anggri also said that not everyone who wants to be a donor can have their blood drawn. "Of the number who want to become donors, some of them are forced to refuse because for example HB blood and so on, it is a normal thing," explained dr. Anggri.
Meanwhile, Zulhendi, one of the donors from JNE Hub Garuda, said he was happy to be able to donate blood. “Hopefully this will be useful for our brothers and sisters who are lying sick and need blood. I hope that this activity is routinely carried out by JNE because blood donation is also medically good for health,” said Ksatria who works as a driver every day.
Ramli, who has donated blood more than 20 times, said the same thing. "In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, I am grateful that I can still donate blood to help those who need blood. Blood donation is a virtue taught by the founders of JNE, in addition to other virtues. Hopefully this activity will bring benefits and blessings," he said. *
