Pandawara Group's Cleanup Initiative at Kesenden Beach in Collaboration with JNE Cirebon

2023-09-01

Throughout its existence, JNE has not only shown care and generosity towards those in need, but also demonstrated a concern for the preservation of the environment around its office locations. This is exemplified by the actions of the JNE Cirebon's Knights, who participated in a collective effort to clean Kesenden Beach.

Kesenden Beach serves as the estuary for several rivers, where the water flow sometimes carries debris and other pollutants, resulting in accumulations of waste at the estuary.

According to Guntur, the head of JNE Cirebon's volunteers, the participation of JNE employees in this collective effort to clean up Kesenden Beach is a response to the call to preserve the environment. "We received an invitation from the Pandawara Group team, who are pioneers in beach cleanup activities. During this event, JNE not only engaged in waste cleanup, but also distributed food and drinks to other volunteers," he explained.

"We are pleased to be part of this event alongside other members of the community, and now the condition of Kesenden Beach appears much cleaner," Guntur stated during an interview with JNEWS on Monday, August 28, 2023.

In addition to participating in the beach cleaning, the Ksatria JNE also distributed food to other volunteers.

According to Guntur, the waste, predominantly composed of plastic and wood, was collected by the volunteers and placed into trash bags before being transported to the final waste disposal site.

"As a JNE employee and a resident of Cirebon, I personally feel concerned when I see the condition of Kesenden Beach in such a state. Alhamdulillah, now it's in much better condition. Hopefully, this situation can endure indefinitely," he disclosed.

"Through this activity, the community will be educated and become more conscientious about maintaining the cleanliness of Kesenden Beach, ultimately making it cleaner, more comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing," Guntur added.

Kesenden Beach itself is located on Kesenden Street, Kampung Baru, in the city of Cirebon, and is only about a 30-minute drive from the JNE Cirebon office.
